Animation Photographs

These photos are the photos I took of the layout of our jellybean animation We laid out pieces of paper and all the jellybeans on the table. I set up the tripod so the camera was above the paper so it was positioned perfectly so the photos all came out the same distance and alignment . This will benefit as it will make the editing process much smoother. Also, I took some example images which are upside down to show exactly how the images that were taken came out.

Today we planned on trying out the setups for our model catwalk scene today but then we realised we would have to do this after school as there are lessons going on in the places we want to shoot and setup. Instead, I decided to plan out catwalk designs for how we want to set it up so when it came to filming we knew roughly how the layout would look. This would save us time so we can film it much quicker I decided that it would be better to have a basic layout but one that looks professional. I think design 3 or 4 would look best as there is a little platform bit on the end where the boys can take advantage of their moment. Also I have left space around the edge, the shading is the area I have left for seating and a judging panel, I think the judging panel should be to the side of the catwalk as you normally see the celebrities and important people at the side of a catwalk.

Template texts.

These are the fonts that i have shortlisted to look at after finding them all, I'm looking to use one of these fonts as the text on the track list for each of the song names. All of the fonts I have chosen are quite similar but I like them as they are quite characterised and would fit onto my digipak.  I think I will choose the bottom one as its in between, it's not too plain but not too out there.

Jelly Bean Art

I looked around the internet for examples of jelly bean art to portray the ideas of what we want to do for our logo and make an animation, after finding the music video made we were inspired to make an animation from jelly beans and I found it quite interesting how you can use jelly beans to make nearly any kind of image. The most popular jelly bean art I have found is image of famous people however, I am quite excited to start experimenting with how we can make our animation look. We have recently ordered the jelly beans so we are currently waiting for them to arrive, when they arrive we shall begin to experiment. We have already put this into our filming and work schedule.

In the double lesson today I chose to go onto the mac computers straight away and try and complete my design for my digipak as I want to begin to create it on the computer soon. I've decided that for the front cover I would like to take my own photo of the sunglasses and have lighting shining behind it to give a greater effect.

Today we began to design our own digipaks, knowing that we wanted to include jelly beans in our logo. I've decided that i would like my digipak to include jellybeans to make the design more colourful and vibrant. We ordered the a bag of about 600 jellybeans so that we can design a logo and maybe make a short animation to open our music video. Also, I have chosen to include a pair of sunglasses on the front cover as a reference to DJ DES as she will be disguised in a fur coat and sunglasses. 

Logo Ideas.

This is the making of the music video 'In yours arms' it shows how long the process of the video was. The music video actually took a whole year to make and 288,000 jelly beans were used overall. We, as a group, are inspired by this work and think it would fit in well with our 'fun and lighthearted' idea for our music video. We are hoping to use this technique to make a logo or quick animation, we are planning to use m&ms or jelly beans. Hoping to call up either of the companies to see if it is possible to get any of them for free if we agree to promote the company. This would work in our favour if this is the case as it would not effect our budget.

Today we started to think about how we want our logo to look when we came across a video on youtube which we thought was brilliant and really fitted in well with our idea of a lighthearted and fun feel to the video. This is a music video called 'In your arms' which we watched and we decided we wanted to apply it to our DJ DES logo, or even make an short animation and have the text moving slightly. I'm glad this has inspired us as it is not your typical logo design, also we can make it physically colourful and eye-catching.

In todays lesson, we uploaded the two power points made about our production plan and for our pitch, to our blog. We also created pie charts from the results of our questionnaires about our music video. I went around the school and took photos of the locations we hope to use. I tried to take photos from different angles to get a better perspective and to judge the positive and negatives of the rooms we want to use. We have our pitch ready for friday morning to present our whole plan to our classmates.

Locations.

This is Elsa Road, this is where we aim to film but if for whatever reason we can't we will use Berwick which will be our backup.

 This is looking the other way down Elsa Road to show the perspective of how the road looks.

 These are two photos of different angles of the big Drama room, this is our priority of the Drama classrooms as it is the biggest and we are aiming to use all the staging and backdrops to make it look like a professional model catwalk.

This is a second Drama room that we plan to use if the other one is not free for whatever reason.

This is our Dance studio, if we decide to use this room rather than drama we will still try our hardest to make it look professional once again. Also, this room is much lighter than the drama rooms so may be better when it comes to filming to make the quality better overall.

As you can see in this photograph it is taken from the opposite angle but shows that there is mirrors within the dance studio, if we were to film in here we would uncover all of the mirrors which would once again help with the lighting as it would bounce the light off making it better to film in. The mirrors also include an element of Goodwin's theory as it is seen as a notion of looking so this would better our music video overall.

This is our school Gallery, we are planning to use this room to have our own photo shoot at the end of our music video where the boys come back after being rejected. Although it looks quite dark it is actually quite a light room especially down the other end this is why it would be ideal for what we want. Having the gallery helps as it means we also have the equipment within the art department like extra lights etc.
